Ist council meeting

Interesting day for first day at Council meeting - it all seems to happen so fast but I'm sure I will keep up-

Busy Council  week coming up with Tirau Community Board meeting Tuesday  and a two day course in Rotorua  -
Am starting to promote a  Tirau 130 year celebration next December 2011 to consider with the auction and sale of all the sections in the Tirau township on 14 December 1881 and all I have spoken to seem keen. Would like to make this possibly a district celebration of two day weekend with a parade on Pirere St and Okoriore Roads or Prospect Terrace , a ball or dance, Fire Brigade open day, exhibitions, possible a food and coffee festival, music, buskers and art and craft just for starters, with more ideas to follow. Already have 3-4 committee volunteers but feel need to hold a public meeting shortly to discuss how we do this and other ideas  for events over the weekend.

First Blog 20th October 2010

As the newly elected Councillor for the Tirau Ward I have decided as a part of the council/constituent communication process to publish a blog site.
I invite all people of the Tirau and South Waikato District to discuss issues concerning our area and its development on this site.
